Donald Duncan
Choirmaster and Artistic Director
With more than 25 years of experience as an organist and choirmaster, Donald W. Duncan serves as the founding director and the Artistic Director and Choirmaster of the Church Street Choral Academy. Donald W. Duncan also serves as Director of Liturgy and Music at Christ Church (Episcopal) in Greenville, South Carolina, where he manages and coordinates the many musical and liturgical offerings of a large and active 4,000 member parish. He conducts the semi-professional Christ Church Parish Choir and supervises a departmental staff with nearly 400 volunteers involved in liturgy and music.

He holds the Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Lyon College, and the Master of Music degree in Sacred Music from the University of Memphis. His professional affiliations include the Royal School of Church Music, the American Guild of Organists, and the Organ Historical Society.
Sarah Marczynski
Program Coordinator
Sarah Marczynski serves as the Program Coordinator for both Christ Church’s Music and Liturgy Department and the Church Street Choral Academy. She holds a Master’s of Public Administration focusing in Nonprofit Management and a Bachelor’s of Music Education, both from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Before moving to Greenville, Sarah served as the Director of Music Events at Lee University and as the Community Engagement & Education Manager at the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera, both in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
​Sarah is a choral singer, singing in the Christ Church Schola Cantorum and in S.C. Bach and loves working with young musicians. She has served on the board of the Chattanooga Boys Choir and grant panels throughout the Southeastern region.
Mary Ann Thompson
Piano Teacher
Mary Ann Thompson is a graduate of Baylor University and former Elementary Music Instructor. She taught voice, piano lab, Kodaly and Orff instruction at Midway schools in Waco Texas for 35 years before retiring. After moving to Greenville she joined Christ Church Episcopal with her husband Howard in 2017, and works with the Christ Church children’s music program. She wrote & directed the children’s choir presentation for the Creative Arts Camp in 2022 and continues to be presently active as a private piano teacher in Greenville.
Cara Horn
Music Theory Teacher
Cara Horn is a lifelong church musician. She started playing the keyboard for her church worship team at the age of 12, and has been either behind the piano or in the choir nearly every week since! Cara earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance from Houghton University, and has many years of experience teaching piano lessons. She has also been leading the children’s choir at Christ Church for 9 years.
Amelia Smith
Assistant Program Coordinator
Amelia Smith is a current Vocal Performance major at Furman University from Asheville, NC. In addition to her role at the Choral Academy, she also participates in the Christ Church Parish and Schola choirs, as well as the Furman Singers! Amelia is very thankful to be able to share her passion for choral music and cultivate this community of young musicians.
Micaela Cruz
Program Day Assistant
Micaela is a current Choral Education major studying at Furman University from Charleston, SC. In addition to her role at the Choral Academy, she sings in the Schola and Parish Choirs at Christ Church, as well as Furman Singers, Furman Chamber Choir, and occasionally Furman's treble choir, Belle Voci.
Caroline Marshall
Program Day Assistant
Caroline Marshall, originally from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, holds a Bachelor's degree in Classical Vocal Performance from Belmont University and a Master's degree in Music Performance from the University of South Carolina. Currently a program assistant for the Church Street Choral Academy, Caroline is also a member of the Christ Church Chorus and has been teaching voice lessons for two years, sharing her passion for music with her students.
